The Road to Hope…

In these days, we hear words of hopelessness.  Of foreclosures, nations shaking, hearts breaking, of pundits talking of politics and presidents as the answer to our nation’s needs…rather than prayer and the power of God to help us.

The Lord has not changed…neither have His promises or His word.  His Promise: “He will never leave us or abandon us…”

When all is shaking around us, whether it be of someone else’s doing or even our very own, we must return to and trust the promises of God.  He has not changed but sometimes we must.  In our behavior, our attitude, our actions…our beliefs.

God loves us and will see us through to the very end.  Press in hard to Jesus today…even into His strong arms where He will keep your emotions stable…sometimes even standing still, sometimes obeying His directions to act.  Jesus will keep you strong as you hide in His strong arms, as He protects you from the storm, the trial, that will pass.  Press in hard.

We are being prepared on this journey of Life…for eternity.  A destiny of Love with our King.

“I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him.  He alone is my Rock and my Salvation, my Fortress where I will never be shaken.”  Psalm 62:1.2

In a moment…

In a moment, Jesus will come for us. In a moment, He will answer our prayer…for some, what seems like eternity. On this earth we are being trained for eternity.

This is not the end. This is the beginning, every day, of a great journey with our King. Even through suffering, uncertainty, shaking, trial, pain, rejection, persecution…failure, despair…Jesus is with us. Through it all His promise is that He will walk through the valley of the shadow of death, with us. He will never leave us…even in the darkest of places. Jesus will never leave us. When we leave Him…He awaits beckoning us, through His Spirit…through our circumstances…to return.  Tenderly watching and awaiting our return…to Him, His arms, His Love.

The waiting heart

The Bride…was created with a longing…a longing for the Man that would be willing to die for her, a Man that would come riding on a White Horse, a Man that would fight for her, would pay her debts, a Man who would love her passionately for her soul….who would listen to her heart, her unwritten songs, give grace and mercy even when she deserved justice and punishment…a Man that would look at her, with deep love in his eyes…at her worst moment…when others had rejected her and all could hear, but as though, “she” was the only one, for Him… “you are My beloved…I AM here for you always…I love you…wait for Me..I am coming…you are Mine.”

The NAME…setting captives free

The NAME…recently I was in a meeting, the topic was “trafficking, human slavery…the selling of human beings for sex – women, little girls as young as five years old…across our borders, our nation…” I could feel the darkness of this evil begin to enter the room, as graphic images were shown of victims…sensing this darkness even as we were discussing justice and mercy…hope for the victims.

These are somebody’s daughters…born for such a time.  Now…their Father in Heaven is coming to rescue them…

This is a deep evil bound in the humanity and sin of mankind…pornography, greed, hatred, anger, sexual immorality… Again…the enemy is trying to thwart and destroy the destiny of a chosen generation of daughters…and sons…chosen to prepare the way of the return of our King.

With a whisper…for all it takes is a breath of His Name… I said “Jesus…Jesus…Jesus…” I could feel the darkness leave the room and the Light of His Hope and Justice shine bright! Jesus…Hope setting every captive free… (Isaiah 61)

We do not battle against flesh and blood, We battle, through prayer (and action)…against spiritual wickedness… (For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Even as we take the Light, Truth, and Love of Jesus into the darkness…in these last days…we must be fully equipped with a cleansed & healed heart, covered by the Armor of God and the Blood of Jesus…motivated by His Perfect Love which casts out fear…following Jesus into the places He will lead. His Love, His Mercy, His Heart…His Eyes…to the people group of “the broken”….

To see with His beautiful Eyes the true destiny of the broken…so that we may follow Him into the places where the bound are crying out for freedom…and the hopeless are crying out for hope…the lifeless in soul and the spiritually dead are calling out for life…

For such were some of us… (“Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” – I Corinthians 6:11…written through Paul who was responsible for the killing of many Christians…forgiven, healed, given new eyes, new heart…filled with the passionate power and love of Jesus…)

Jesus is coming with Justice for the oppressor, Mercy for the oppressed…and in these last days coming for the broken held captive in the dark places…

HOPE…there is Power in His Name: “so that at the Name of JESUS EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth…” Phil 2:10

Dear God…please send Your Mighty Angels…Your Power to break every chain, open every cage, every prison door of the oppressed…Your Power that protects law enforcement and Your workers of freedom…Your Power that drops the oppressor to their knees and sets every captive free…

…unshakable identity…

For the past few days I’ve been talking with a young friend who is going through a difficult challenge facing rejection, persecution…and really just plain ugliness…even though this young friend has tried to reach out with kindness.

I’ve shared with my young friend that…the person who is speaking hurtful, ugly, unnecessary words is really just reflecting what’s in their heart.  It really has nothing to do with my young friend…she’s just the person who’s in the way of the venomous arrows of verbal infliction.

You know…the arrows the enemy places on people’s tongues that try to kill the heart, emotions…destiny of an individual.  These are the arrows that have been garnered usually one by one through hurt, disappointment, abuse…unforgiveness, suppressed anger, bitterness.  They spew out of mouths with point words that pierce or like those suction toy arrows that are hard to pull off.

It’s the Blood of Jesus and the Power of His Word that pulls the arrows off…and deflects them from even landing on us.

So…my friend is in a “teaching time”.  Choosing to learn to be unshakable.  Learning for the days ahead as persecution and darkness increases.  Praying, standing, confronting…sometimes hurting…forgiving…and then learning to speak blessings…life words that deflect and cancel…and love unconditionally the hurting and the lost…even the one who is try to oppress.

The person who offends is hurting and with each hurtful word the heart is being exposed.  The Light of Jesus in us…the Power of the Holy Spirit as we walk into a room…convicts.  But…as we stand in the, unshakable Love of Jesus, the knowledge of our Identity in Christ, His Love, His Care, His Acceptance, His Presence always with us…we will remain…unshakable.

In the days ahead, this generation will be prepared…more and more to remain…unshakable.  Piercing forward with the unshakable knowledge of who they/we are “in Christ”.  Even though defamed, accused unjustly, mocked, slandered, rejected, scorned, betrayed…persecuted…the remnant of this generation will remain…unshakable.

I have come to know this is what the Lord is doing in my own life…preparing through trials…and even testings through “shakable situations”.   Thankful when I see my response is “peace”…even when the situation or circumstance reflects no change…and even “seems” to worsen.

Not tested in all…but thankful that in recent days I’ve experienced the “unshakable in the knowledge of my Identity in Christ”…that fills my heart with His peace and love…in the midst.  I know that I continue to be in our Master’s School…preparing for the “tests” of the days ahead.

If you are going through a shakable trial…even today…allow the Lord to turn the arrows around and use His Mighty Hand to write the unshakable knowledge of your Identity in Christ…His unfailing Love for you…His Word…upon your heart.

Remain unshakable, friend, in these shakable times…one step at a time…strengthened, in the knowledge of the Power and Love of Jesus…Who will never leave you are abandon you…Who calls you more than an overcomer…Who sings over you…Who has come to save you…and Who is coming again.

Unshakable Truth when you are a Christian:

“You are Accepted”

You are a friend of Jesus                    John 15:15

You are adopted as God’s child         Ephesians 1:5   and   Psalm 27:10

You have been forgiven of all sins     Colossians 1:14 and I John 1:9

“You are Secure”

You are free from condemnation      Romans 8:1,2

You are a citizen of Heaven                 Philippians 3:20

You cannot be separated from God’s Love       Romans 8:35,39

“You are Significant”

You have been chosen             John 15:16

You can approach God with freedom      Ephesians 3:12

You can do all things through Jesus Christ     Philippians 4:13

Side Note: Remembering the story of Betsy and Corrie ten Boom.  Corrie, who survived months of imprisonment in concentrations camps during World War II because, as a Christian, she and her Dutch family provided refuge to Jews who were taken to be killed at the camps…often spoke of the “unshakable” knowledge of the love of Jesus Christ she saw reflected in the life of her sister, Betsy.

The “ten Boom” family did not have to “provide refuge” during this great time of injustice…but they knew the Lord had called Christians to this purpose.  How could they live, if they do not follow His Word.   Papa ten Boom, Betsy…and other family members died in the camps.

While Betsy died just days before Corrie’s release…Corrie tells the story of how she, Corrie, could not forgive…her heart was heavy for the injustice of the oppressor.  In the years after Corrie’s release…she did forgive…through the Love of Jesus.

Corrie tells the story of her sister, Betsy, who continued to forgive and to lean upon her “identity in Christ”…upon “her Master”…and was able to walk out her final days upon this earth…”behind barb wires, oppressed, mocked, persecuted, at the point of death… but free in Christ”.

Corrie said that when Betsy died…there was a glow about her while she laid in the room in the concentration camp…as the Glory of the Lord seemed to be around her…she even regained her youthful appearance…even in death.

A reflection of her identity in Christ and His…Unshakable Love.

…a little child will lead them…

So…there we were, my daughter Sarah and I getting into the car after a visit to the office supply store.  It’s in front of Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  Not to give any store a plug but what happened next will explain the “beyond” part:)

As I was walking over to open my car door, a woman came around the side of her car and began singing, “you don’t see what I see…you don’t see what I see…”  I thought…okay Lord…I just feel in my heart to tell her how You see her…that You see her as one who is greatly loved by You…”

So…I did.  And yes…my children, family, friends, and spiritual children are used to me doing things like this:)  People need hope and encouragement, in the Lord, in these days.  In fact, a few of you are probably shaking your heads and smiling right now:)

Well…as I was walking up to the woman, I noticed that she was holding the hand of her daughter.  They were smiling.  So…I said, “We often don’t see ourselves as Jesus sees us but He surely loves you and sees you as His own…so greatly loved!”  She looked at me, smiling, and said…”Do you know what my daughter just said?”   I said , “No…what did she say?”

Now…this  was a mom who had been riding with her daughter after just picking her up from school.  Her daughter was about 10 years old and was wearing her school shirt.

Back to the conversation.

So…the woman answered, “Ever since I picked her up from school, she’s been saying,”Mom, Jesus is coming back soon…look up…can’t you see…Jesus is coming back soon…Mom, you don’t see what I see.”  The woman said, “She says I don’t see what she sees…my Pastor says that she will prophesy greater than I will…but I don’t know…”

So…I realized this was a “Divine appointment”.  I had not met this mom and daughter before…but the Lord knew we would meet in the parking lot….the “beyond” part:)  This was a time to encourage both a mom and daughter in the destiny of this coming generation. I said, “Yes ma’am, I believe your daughter.  Jesus is coming back soon.”

The young girl then looked at me and said, “Look up…can’t you see that He’s coming back soon…”  It’s as though she was focused only on the Lord and obedience to Him.  Wanting to honor her mother and show me respect…but totally focused on obedience to the Lord.  This will be needed in the coming days, for this chosen generation…as the day grow darker but their light shines brighter.

I turned to them both and said, “I believe the Lord is speaking to and through this generation. He is pouring out His Spirit on this generation in a powerful way.  That’s what His Word says.  The Lord says this generation…our children…will do greater works in His Name.”   Her response, “That’s what my Pastor said about my daughter…so now I’m hearing it again and that Jesus is coming soon…so I guess the Lord is speaking to me and I better listen…”

As parents, we must raise our children…of all ages… with purpose for the days to come…for the Lord is building His army, in them.   If you feel you haven’t…then start by giving “life words” to this generation now.  It’s not too late.

I encouraged the young girl by saying, “The Lord has given you a powerful gift…you’re an encourager for your generation to know the Lord is coming…”   She said, “I know…but no one will listen…”

Isaiah 11:6
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.

Joel 2:28-32

The Day of the LORD

28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.

29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth
blood and fire and billows of smoke.

31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the LORD will be saved;

for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the LORD has said,
among the survivors
whom the LORD calls.

From Broken to Beloved…

As I have come to know the Love of Jesus, in relationship with Him…I ponder how we are so loved by Him.  How Jesus takes us where we are, transforms us with His love…daily.

Then, as we surrender, submit, and follow Jesus…to the places He leads (even through trials, hardships…the “valley of the shadow of death”)…we can look back with each step and see His rescuing love and how He has transformed our lives.

Our identity is in Christ…not our past, not our mistakes, not what we do…or…who we think we are.   We are polished gems, pressed by the fire of the Living God…reflecting His love, His truth, and His glory that transforms lives for eternity:

From broken to Beloved “Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between His shoulders.” Deuteronomy 33:12

From victim to Victor“For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4

From abandoned to Adopted“God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.”  Ephesians 1:5

From lonely to LovedThe LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”  Jeremiah 31:3

From dejected to Desired“I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD Almighty.”  Haggai 2:7

From oppressed to Overcomer –   “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”  I John 5:4

From rejected to Redeemed“I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”  Isaiah 44:2

From condemned to Chosen –   “Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?”  James 2:5  …and…  “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”  I Peter 2:9

From hopeless to Healed“O LORD my God, I called to You for help and you healed me.”  Psalm 30:2

From worthless to Wonderfully and fearfully made“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”  Psalm 139:14

From taken to Transformed by the renewing of my mind, in the Word of God  –   “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Romans 12:2

From forsaken to Friend of Jesus, FREE in Christ…our Risen Saviour, the only One and True Living God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  –   “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”  John 15:15

You…are not a mistake, not forsaken….You are a treasure…born in this moment of eternity, chosen by God to live…for such a time as this.

Zechariah 3:1-4

1 Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”

3 Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. 4 So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.”

Because a friend asked me about the name “Jeshua” – I’ve also posted the following for clarification:

ABOUT JESHUA: – Jeshua or Joshua?
Taken From:

This is not the Joshua of the conquest in Israel’s early history, but rather a priest who was part of the exiles who returned from Babylon under the decree of the Persian King Cyrus (Ezra 1:2 ff).

What makes this interesting is that most mainstream translations (KJV, NASB, NIV, REB, ESV, NRSV, HCSB, NLT etc.) render the name Jeshua instead of Joshua, and the Hebrew (יֵשׁ֡וּעַ) confirms this traditional rendering.

Where babies run free…

I was inside the house today, when one of my daughter’s ran inside and said, “Mom, there’s a baby outside.  It looks like it’s lost.  It was walking down the side-walk and came right to our house.”

I said, “I will be right there.”   As I was walking out, I thought, “Lord…this is just like You.  Just as you send babies to the Pregnancy Center…inside of their mothers wombs…babies outside of the womb are also drawn by You to places of safety…as we pray.”

As I came outside, I saw my daughters playing with the toddler and talking to her.  The little girl found a safe place and two young women who were watching out for her…strategically placed by God, in the front of our house…at the right time.

My daughters could see the little girl just needed someone to “speak up” for her and take her back safely…returning her to the loving arms of her parents.

Nothing is a coincidence, in God…as He calls us to protect babies, inside and out….in places where babies roam free…

Oh…one more thing.  This precious little girl was taken to her Mom and Dad who joyfully embraced her.  She just wanted to visit new friends that she sensed loved babies, loved Jesus…and loved life!
